The central government has approved a Rs 41,000 crore incentive scheme for promoting domestic mobile phones. The company has also approved a project of Tk. 000,000 for electronic manufacturing plants.
The central government has approved these proposals to make India the main market for the creation of mobile phone and electronics products. Information Technology Department Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad Said:
The finance ministry has approved a proposal to increase investment in electronics manufacturing. India is planning to become a major hub for electronics production. Tk. 5 crore has been allocated to encourage mobile phones, specific electronics products and related activities. The funds will be spent for the next five years. He said if the plan is implemented, the mobile product industry will generate Rs 10 lakh crore by 2020.
