As there are a lot of similarities between a smart phone applications and applications using twitter, they say that this is neither a new nor a big invention. They suspect about the success of this product as similar services can be done in a better way using various smart phone applications. According to them mobile connectivity since its inception has gone hand in hand with twitter and this is the factor which had made twitter this popular.

Here are some of the reasons for which they think that twitter on phone might fail

• Since twitter is a social network, a phone branded for twitter will be of limited use only. It will be highly localized to those people who use twitter application. So it hasn’t got a wide market to aim at.
• Relaying on the twitter service is another important point. Twitter is a third party software. INQ has no influence on the administration of twitter network. The twitter administrators can make changes to the service or at the very worst can stop the service. If those changes are not supported by the phone the purpose is failed.
• Various smart phones are providing twitter clients at very considerable cost around the world. Twitter phones must be good enough to compete with them.
• The phone will be of use only to the regular twitter users. But the thing is most of the regular twitter users use the twitter mobile application. The twitter mobile application can stand as good as a twitter phone. So hoping the regular customers to switch to twitter phone is not a good idea.
