            The launching of World Wide Web has made an ocean of information available to the public. This information rich environment provides tremendous opportunities for the people, to communicate worldwide in spite of their language, by the help of translation resources available on the web. For a multilingual Web surfer, there are a lot of language support sites offering dictionaries, fonts and translation services.

            There are many web sites using languages other than English. To view the text content on a computer, the particular font must be installed on it. If the font is not installed, we have to download it from the Internet or enable the browser to display the text with an available font. Many websites provides free fonts to the users.

            The online dictionaries allow the user to translate from English to other language word by word. For example, an online dictionary called Babylon allows translation of words into eight languages just by right clicking the typed word and selecting the language.

            To translate a chat message cannot be done with the dictionary one solution is the online translation programs like Babelfish. We just needed to type the text and select the language to translate from the menu. The translated messages may not be accurate in all respect but still the reader will get a fair idea about what the text says. The multilingual search engines are a convenient option for surfing the web in other languages.
