It offers revision on the history, and looks more like a text editor from a black and white Mac system. Developer of the SimpleText calls it “human sized” ie, a text that we could have typed like notes, writing and to-do lists.

SimpleText.Ws is neither meant to host gigantic text files nor to store sensitive information. The source code of the site is open and it can be hosted on your own server.

Your data can be taken out using the public API which uses JSON for data formatting, Google for authentication, and has a RESTful design. The server you use should conform to the Google App Engine environment. The client code based on Google Web Toolkit is also an open source.
