Nimbuzz focuses on developing mobile clients for a wide range of mobile phones, including the iPhone or iPod touch, BlackBerry and Android systems. Nimbuzz clients are available in quite a few languages. Nimbuzz for Blackberry is developed to work as a native app, and allows users to stay connected with their friends and family anytime they want. Nimbuzz IM program offers voice services in competition with Gizmo5 and Skype.
The Nimbuzz Mobile client supports the IM services like Windows Live/MSN, Google Talk, Yahoo, AIM and ICQ. It also offers social networking chat in Facebook, MySpace etc. The client also let you make VoIP calls using any SIP account, Skype, or NimbuzzOut service. Nimbuzz claims that its rates for international calls are cheaper than Skype’s. The client supports only one account per service. To make voice calls, the number which you have to get on line should be entered into the address book of the device in full international format.
The Mac client of Nimbuzz comes close to the classiness of Adium. Nimbuzz also presents a web version, but it is not that full-featured like some other web-based IM services. It doesn’t work with Twitter. The BlackBerry application runs in the background and allows you to be online and available to your friends even when you are busy writing an email, updating your agenda or watching a movie. Its home screen notification feature gives a notification on your home screen as and when you receive an incoming chat.
Whenever you lose the connection Nimbuzz will get you reconnected by switching between 2G, 3G or Wi-Fi with a suitable search for an available internet connection with the help of auto reconnect feature in it. It also provides you with an option for Clickable URL’s which gives a complete online experience by letting you open the links from chats or personal messages.
Nimbuzz is available for BlackBerries that works on OSv4.6 or higher, including the BlackBerry Bold, BlackBerry Storm, BlackBerry Tour, BlackBerry Curve and BlackBerry Pearl Flip. You can get it free of any cost at nimbuzz.com as well as on BlackBerry App World.
