HP EliteBook 8730w is the largest workstation of Hp’s business range systems. EliteBook 8730w consist of the latest Intel processors and Nvidia Quadro graphics processor with HP’s 17-inch “DreamColor” display. The system configuration makes EliteBook 8730w well suited for exclusive graphics application. The notebook meets the specified requirements in the case of durability, performance, power requirement and many other built in features.

 The first notable feature of this notebook is the external build and design. The main body of the notebook consists of rigid plastic and durable magnesium alloy and the outer body is scratch resistant. The entire chassis is exceptionally durable and can withstand heavy pressure. Hard drive shock protection mechanism namely HP 3D DriveGuard helps to protect the hard drive from shocks. 8730w can additionally be configured with a solid state drive for high speed and less vibration operation. 8730w comprises of a 17.0″ anti-glare “DreamColor” RGBLED back lit display with an 8-bit panel which has the capability to display up to 16.7 million colors. The high resolution of 1920 x 1200 helps in displaying the finest details in applications like Maya, CAD, 3dsMax etc. The dedicated sub woofers in the workstation offers a superior sound clarity. The Durafinish technology used in the keypad and touch pad helps in preventing the gathering of dirt. Dedicated buttons are there for Mute, Presentation Mode, and Wi-Fi Toggle. EliteBook 8730w comprises of HDMI port, VGA port, FireWire, an ExpressCard/54 slot, 4 USB slots,  a smart card slot, eSATA port, Ethernet and modem port. EliteBook 8730w also comprise of a Blu-ray optical drive.The comprehensive performance of the CPU is high when comparing this version with its competitors. The system provides a battery lifetime of about 3 hours which is quite good.HP EliteBook 8730w can be considered as an excellent replacement for a desktop.
