Gphone.exe is one of the most dangerous viruses existing which is spreading very fast. It comes under the Trojan category and changes your IE homepage and tries to open Gtalk or yahoo messenger. It can even send messages to your Gtalk contacts. The icon of the virus is just like that of folder and people clicking on it will get infected by the virus. Gphone virus is a 260 kb .exe file and it looks like a folder and has the ability to take any name of any other folder on your computer. If you have a folder name “folder1” in your D drive it will make an exe file in the folder named folder1.exe and if you click on that exe file the virus will be activated. This virus is spreading through instant messengers like Google chat and yahoo messenger. The virus disables your antivirus and other security software including firewalls.

For removing the gphone.exe virus follow the given procedures:

1. Press CTRL + SHIFT + ESC or ALT+CTRL+DEL to open Task Manager. In the Task Manager, click the process tab and find gphone.exe. Right click gphone.exe and select the option ‘end process ‘or press Del key on the keyboard to end the process. If you cannot to open task manager, download the free ‘process explorer’ and run the application by clicking processxp.exe. Now locate gphone.exe and repeat the earlier mentioned procedure for ending the process ‘gphone.exe’

2. Search the file named gphone.exe on your entire hard drive and delete all such files.

3. Download the free Version of’ Glary Utilities’ for removing duplicate files created by the virus.

4. After installing ‘glary utilities’ run it and go to ‘Files and Folder ‘then to the ‘Duplicate File Finder’ and Search for the .exe files of the same size of 260 kb and delete all of them

5. Thus Gphone.exe virus is removed from your system
