It enhances your e-reading experience by allowing you to subscribe various magazines and newsletters and brings you regular updates from various publishers. It also allows you to schedule your reading by providing various markers. Although the GReader service is great,  it’s look is not much appealing. So it is always good if we impart some style to GReader. A style which not only enhance the look of the interface but also customizes the display according to the user.

This can be done through Helvetireader, a stack of CSS, which has been packed in a number of different ways. Getting your copy of Helvetireader is easy.  With Firefox what all you have to do is going through some simple steps listed below.

  • You take a tour to the site of Helvetireader, and click on the option Install as a userscript.
  • After waiting for a moment, click on install.
  • Refresh your GReader page for the changes to take effect.

The changes will be visible in the appearance of your GReader. Using this improved UI doesn’t have much difference from the older one. You will find it easy to use the keyboard short cuts. Most of the time, icons in window are not much necessary. So hiding them in the style is a good move. But users have mixed opinions about this move. The highlights in the menu are really wonderful.

There are various other applications available which make GReader a desktop application. Some of them are Fluid [Instructions] and Mozilla Prism [Instructions]. Try download them to add style to your habit of reading.
