Sometimes computer crashing becomes more severe that the user forced to reinstall his operating system completely.

One of the main challenge in the re installing process is the backing up of personal data like family accounts,personal documents etc.User can use  local storage devices for this purpose like CD,DVD etc.But there is another simple method is also available. PROCEDURE

1.ORGANISING THE FILES

First,user need to transfer his necessary documents like media and pictures,his important personal documents in to the “My document” folder.Then go to the “start” menu and select “search”.Press the link “All files and folders”.From the “Look in drop down” menu select the “My documents” folder.

Restart the searching process by using the search term ‘*.tmp’.User can also find other temporary files by using the symbol ‘~’ which is called “tilde”.After the searching process  select all the temporary files and then press [SHIFT]+[DELETE] to delete them.After all these steps then run a disk clean program like  “CCleaner”.It will help to delete the remaining unnecessary data’s.

2. FINDING THE LOCATION

Now, the user need to configure his back-up location. For this he need to make some FTP storage space on his remote server. Most of the Internet connections will provide free web space,but first user must check for enough free space to store his  data. If there is not much FTP space is available for the user’s data then he cant use this method.Then he must use the link “www.drivehq.com” which will provide free service for the configuration.

User need to know the FTP address of his storage space as well as his user ID and password. If he don’t know these details,then check the “help documentation” link on the website of his web host.

3.CREATING THE NETWORK PLACE

First,Open the Start menu and then choose ‘My Network Places’. Then press the link ‘Add a Network Place’ which will appear in the wizard. Then click ‘Next’ and from that select ‘Choose’ for finding another network place .

Now the user need to specify the address of the web site and the network location.Fotr that

 Click ‘Next’ and enter the address of the site that he like to access as an FTP URL. Then press ‘Next’ and ‘untick’ the ‘Log on anonymously’ box. Then enter the user’s FTP username there in that box.Finally, user need to give a name for the network connection.Tick the box which is labelled “open this network place when i click finish” and then press the switch ‘finish’
