Google To Replace HTTP And Make Web Faster

Google has hardly stopped for a break after launching its Chrome OS based on cloud as an alternative to Personal computer and Mac OS. Now, Google’s Chromium group has announced an attempt to replace the web browser language, the fundamental Hypertext Transfer Protocol with a new one that is supposed to boost browsing in the Internet by up to 55 percent.

At present, HTTP is the protocol used by almost all the web servers and browsers, and so has the “http” in front of the web addresses that are typed in them. But, HTTP becomes inefficient when transferring many tiny files on modern websites, noted Ars Technica.

Google team has been working on its new protocol named SPDY which means SPeeDY which aims to make the web faster. This new protocol can compress the information and handle it by means of a single SSL encrypted connection. This makes the files of greater priority to slip through immediately without getting lagged behind larger files. SPDY has verified up to 55 percent in loading the web pages under the laboratory conditions and the source code has been released to have feedback from the public.

But as per the points of caution that are raised up by Ars Technica regarding the compulsory SSL encryption that requires more power for processing from small devices and computers in the same way. Requirement of SSL could also make the situation bad as the operators of the server would neglect SSL encryption and unintentionally promote people to disregard warnings about websites that are not secure.

Even now, Google’s team identifies these problems and has already planned solutions to work around. Google’s Android OS, which was an open approach, has already proved to be a huge success, but revamping the architecture of the Internet will undoubtedly prove complicated in the coming days.
