The FinePix S2 Pro features a CCD Raw mode, which shows the image before it is processed by the internal algorithmic settings of the cam. It features a host of cutting edge camera functions. The FinePix S2 Pro will be available from July with a price tag of £3,000. It is fully compatible with all Nikkor AF-D lenses and AF-S type professional optic lens. FinePix S2 Pro uses the 3rd Generation Super CCD sensor. It has the advantage of good color reproduction and low noise. At abnormal lighting conditions Super CCD system provides good quality images due to its higher sensitivity. Professional photographers will find noise-free shooting ability invaluable.

Fujifilm has overcome the problem of unwanted noise amplification at increasing sensitivity. Auto white balance algorithm incorporates calculations involving focus distance information to provide perfect color. This improves the sharpness of the image without increasing noise. The new LSI features an advanced image-processing algorithm. Fujifilm has also included a Pixel Data Coupling Technology in this cam. This is for dim light location and high-speed action photography. The camera has a shutter speed of 30 to 1/4000 second. It can perform continuous shooting for 2 frames per second for up to seven frames.

The S2 Pro features four shooting modes, four exposure modes and nine modes for white balance. Images can be recorded at four resolutions in three file formats namely TIFF-RGB, CCD-Raw and JPEG. The FinePix model offers dual-storage media options: SmartMedia and CompactFlash.  Other high end features include FireWire connectivity, IBM Microdrive compatibility, CCD-RAW and TIFF modes. Over all, this Fujifilm product offers superb value for money.
