Dell has combined its high profile XPS brand and its avant garde Adamo line to form the Adamo XPS, the slimmest laptop till the date. The device bulges out to 10.3mm.in the back and is 9.7 mm at the ankle and weighs 1.44 kg. The Adamo is packed with a 1.4GHz Core2 Duo ULV CPU, 128GB SSD and 4GB of 800MHz DDR3 memory. The LED is about 13.4 in and is powered by Intel integrated graphics chip.It comes standard with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit to make full use of the multi-touch touchpad and the 4GB of memory.

There is no built in optical drive, in the device. But still there is an external display output and two USB ports and an additional custom port for attaching peripherals and other ports. Amusingly, the hinge is not presented at the edge. It is situated somewhat into the device. This provides a kind of stand that the laptop can rest on when it is kept open. In fact, the base folds into the lid when it is closed.

A sensor is also there which will release an electronic catch in order to open it when you take your finger across it. The sensor is a capacitive touch sensor. Even with extended battery, you can expect only about five hours between the charges. The Adamo XPS has a default configuration and comes in just one color.

Windows 7 Home Premium loaded on the solid-state drive powers the system. There was rumors that the system will use NVIDIA hardware instead it will use GMA 4500 graphics from Intel. It has a battery capacity of 40Wh and can provide a run time of about five hours. The options available for Adamo XPS are limited. The Adamo XPS is already available online but then Dell will not deliver the orders until December 22nd. Pricing and availability details are not yet confirmed.
