Mozilla Firefox has introduced a new plugin called “Autofill forms” to help the users to fill web forms easily. It enables the user to fill out forms with one click. A set of customisable rules determines what to be entered for each form element. It allows editing, removing, enabling or disabling the provided rules and also we can add our own rules. We can configure the order of application of rules and define site specific rules. Several sets of rules can be switched by using profiles. Autofill Forms works with text inputs, selections, check boxes and radio buttons. It will not use any system resources as it is active only for the moment it auto fills forms.
To install the plug in follow the steps.
1. Open fire fox as it is easier to install the plug in from within firefox.
2. Search for Autofill forms in addons.mozilla.org.
3. Click on ‘Add to fire fox’ on the right of ‘Autofill forms’.
4. Restart fire fox after the download is completed.
5. Select ‘Add-ons’ from the ‘Tools’ menu in fire fox then select ‘Autofill Forms’ and click the ‘Options’ button.
6. Fill out the form on the ‘Simple’ tab, the most commonly requested information in web forms.
7. Right click on the form you want to fill out, select ‘Autofill form’ and click ‘Default’. The information given in the Simple tab will be entered. Alternatively the shortcut with a pencil icon can be used.
8. Fill out the empty fields and select ‘Add complete form as profile’ to save the form for future use.
