The updated version addresses several reliability and security issues. It includes Directory Server scanners and Task Server, for finding client computers known by our task server and clients in computer groups on a directory server. In the client computer Information window, the new “Reporting” tab, to set a single-reporting policy for a client computer is shared by all Remote Desktop administrator computers. In a client computer Information window, New “Administrators” tab, to control and display which task servers and admin computers and are associated with each of the client computers.

Client settings can be configured by the Managed Preferences in work group Manager. They promise added support to find and add client computers using wide-area Bonjour. They also assure improved performance of encrypted file copies, and encrypted screen-sharing connections. When controlling a remote client, they also send key combinations for actions such as Log Out, Force Quit, and the Application Switcher to the remote computer and many more. With Real-VNC it ensures improved screen sharing.

The scheduled UNIX Commands will stay scheduled. It resolves an issue by using Lock Screen or Curtain mode on the  client computer which is at the login window. It has improved stability while running Remote Desktop Admin on a Task Server. It is capable of resolving an issue that can cause the build_hd_index files to become extremely huge. With application firewall, it has improved compatibility. It can also change Client Settings task now while working, when the Remote Desktop administrator is having an Active Directory account.

Apple gives details of all the improvements in a new support document. On the same page, Apple had listed numerous under-the-hood changes and improvements and more-visible changes with the Remote Desktop software.
