An intelligence quotient gives us measurement of our mental abilities based on certain standardized tests. Although IQ tests can assess many mental abilities, the score is not directly related to intelligence as many areas of intelligence are not measurable. A number of IQ tests is available. Here are some of them.
1. IQTest.com
This website provides a simple test that assesses your ability to think fast and respond. The test consists of a set of 38 TRUE or FALSE questions which need to be answered by pressing the required button. It must be completed within 13 minutes with an average of less than 20 seconds for each question. Your IQ score would be based on how fast you finish the test.
On completion of the test, you will receive a general IQ score for free and a detailed intelligence report is available for $9.95. The report tells us more about our performance in 13 specific areas of intelligence which include computational speed, arithmetic, vocabulary, logic, general knowledge and intuition.
2. iqtest.dk
iqtest.dk is a test that focuses more on a person’s ability to learn, memorize and to think innovatively and is based on logic. It consists of 39 questions which need to be answered within 40 minutes with the level of difficulty increasing as you proceed. The task is to find the most appropriate figure that logically fits (pattern) in with the rest of the figures.
If there are two logical answers to the same question, you must choose the simplest answer. Thus it minimizes the effect of language and mathematics and is also not a test of our computational speed. On submission of our answers, we get our IQ score which is calculated based on answers from more than 250,000 people. It also tells you whether your IQ is very low, low, normal or high when compared to others.
3. IQ-Test
The iPhone users can avail this application to know their IQ score. The test consists of 40 multiple choice questions which need to be answered within 40 minutes. The questions are mainly logical wherein it is required to find out the next number or shape in the pattern. The main features of this application are that you can have a break in between the test and you may skip questions and come back to them later. Although the application is not a substitute for a standard IQ test, it gives us an idea of how we would perform in a real test. We can also compare our scores with our friends and family who take this test on iPhone.
4. Moron IQ Test II: Shift and Unblock Bugs Spawned

This is a puzzle game available on the iPhone. The game creates a 9×9 grid that initially contains 5 bugs. You can move a bug to empty cells. You score when the grid contains 5 or more bugs of the same color in a line which are subsequently erased. The larger the number of bugs you erase, the higher is your score. If bugs are not erased, 3 new bugs are generated randomly. The game is over when the grid is filled with bugs and our score gets recorded if it is among the top five scores.
5. Multidimensional IQ Test
Find out how smart you are by taking this test on Psychology Today because as the name suggests, it measures many aspects of intelligence. The multidimensional IQ test consists of 109 questions and is usually completed in an hour although it has no time limit. The test generates a set of 5 questions at a time which need to be answered to proceed further. If you do not know the answer to a question, you may select I don’t know.
The test measures several mental abilities like logical reasoning, verbal and non verbal skills, spatial relation skills etc. After finishing the test, you will get your test score along with a graph and interpretation of one of your test scores. The detailed report can be purchased.
6. International High Society IQ tests
The International High IQ society has been providing online tests since 2000. The IQ tests provided by the society have six subtests which include eCMA (Cognitive Mental Ability Test) and TA (Tests for Above Average Abilities). The subtests need to have the highest standards in terms of reliability. The questions are prepared to meet the requirements laid out by the psychometric community.
While CMA tests a person’s mathematical, analytical and sequential reasoning, the TA is specially designed for identifying highly intelligent people. A score of 124 or higher in either of the tests will help you to join the society.
7. kids-iq-tests.com
